Acrab, a Singapore-based technology company focused on agentic AI compute infrastructure, has secured $130m in a Series B funding round.

Investor support was led by Vertex Ventures SEA & India, Vertex Growth, and institutional investors from Europe and Southeast Asia. With this round, Acrab’s total funding has surpassed $350m since its founding in 2024.

The funding comes as Acrab moves beyond stealth mode and begins commercialisation of its Agent Box platform, powered by its GΞLIX 1 system-on-chip (SoC). The company plans to scale production, develop future hardware and software platforms, and expand its ecosystem to drive industrial deployments, with initial revenue expected this year.

Acrab develops full-stack agentic AI architecture that combines custom silicon, local large language model (LLM) inference, system software, multimodal interface options, and orchestration for autonomous agent systems. Its technology is designed to enable real-time, personalised AI assistance at the edge for use cases spanning AI PCs, home hubs, vehicles, industrial automation, and robotics.

Last month, Acrab introduced GΞLIX 1, its first-generation edge AI SoC. The chip, built on a 5-nanometre process, supports local deployment of open-source models with up to 100 billion parameters.

It incorporates a 20-core Arm CPU, multicore NPU acceleration, and 273 GB/s unified memory bandwidth, integrating CPU, GPU, and NPU resources into one package for large model inference and agentic workloads. The platform is intended to deliver rapid response times and high throughput at power levels suitable for always-on systems.

Agent Box is a personal edge AI device intended for persistent, on-site operation, enabling local inference, multimodal sensing, and agent orchestration without relying on continuous cloud access.

Acrab states that user data remains on device and that the system is optimised to respond quickly even with large prompts and context windows. The company highlights that Agent Box is a single hardware investment, avoiding recurring cloud token fees.

Ken Phua leads Acrab as CEO, following previous roles as head of Asia Applications Engineering at Arm and co-CEO at Arm China. Vertex, a global venture platform backed by Temasek, was among Acrab’s earliest investors.

Acrab reports the GΞLIX platform has been validated in demanding operational environments and is moving towards its first industrial deployments and mass production.

The company aims to provide infrastructure that allows AI agents to perform tasks, retain preferences, and coordinate devices locally across edge environments. It seeks to offer persistent and context-aware automation integrated into daily routines and industrial systems.
