HOTEL NIMB

HOTEL NIMB

Hotel Nimb may be one of the smallest hotels to feature in an Elite Traveler Destination Guide, but what the hotel lacks in size it more than makes up for in luxury and class.

The hotel has just 14 rooms, nine of which are suites, each providing lavish attention to detail. The combination of elegant décor and state-of-the-art technology is delightful; the hotel seamlessly blends antique furniture and fireplaces with Bang & Olufsen BeoVision 10 TV and iPads. Nimb is situated in the charming Tivoli Gardens, which provide a gorgeous backdrop to the striking façade of the hotel; a small scale Taj Mahal meets an Ottoman palace. Guests can expect first-rate attention from the staff, many of whom are experts on the local area and gourmets will be sure to enjoy the on-site Michelin-starred Restaurant Herman.

RADISSON BLU ROYAL HOTEL

RADISSON BLU ROYAL HOTEL

The Radisson Blu Royal hotel caused something of a stir when it first opened in 1960.

Hailed as the start of a new era in ‘jet set’ hotels in Scandinavia, the Radisson was designed by the famous Danish architect Arne Jacobsen. Situated within walking distance of Tivoli Gardens and the Strøget shopping district, the Radisson Blu dominates the Copenhagen skyline. Although much of the interior décor has been replaced in recent renovations, the hotel is still a luxurious affair, and rightly attracts the cream of society. The sleek and elegant 260 guest rooms and suites are graced with Scandinavian style and desirable amenities such as in-room minibar and bathrobes. On-site facilities include a relaxing bar, a large fitness center and modern meeting facilities that can accommodate up to 300 guests. The on-site restaurant, Alberto K, is considered to be one of the finest eateries in the city.

TOP SUITE THE KAPPENBERGER SUITE & THE ROYAL PANORAMA SUITE

Why we love it: Most luxurious hotels have one top suite, but the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel has pipped all other hotels in Copenhagen – it has two: The Kappenberger Suite & The Royal Panorama Suite. Both suites are situated on the top floor of the Radisson Blu Royal Hotel, providing visitors with an outstanding vista over Copenhagen. The suites feature a large bedroom with a king-size bed, a separate living room and the option to connect to another double room. The Royal Panorama suite also has a steam bath and a Bang & Olufsen television and sound system. The suites come with a host of amenities including an in-room Nespresso® coffee machine, full use of the Royal Club facilities and guests can enjoy complimentary breakfast at the hotel’s signature Alberto K Restaurant.

HOTEL D’ANGLETERRE

It’s unfortunate that one of Copenhagen’s finest hotels is closed for refurbishment – the Hotel D’Angleterre, one of the world’s oldest hotels, really is a statement in class and luxury.

The hotel has existed for over 250 years and has welcomed all manner of guests, from royalty to presidents and celebrities to dignitaries. The renovation process, which is projected to be completed in 2012, is expected to restore the hotel to the forefront of world hospitality. There will be fewer rooms at the new Hotel D’Angleterre, with the current number of 123 rooms dropping to 91, but much larger suites, as well as two restaurants, two bars and an improved spa. The spa will aim to build on its reputation as one of the finest in the city by increasing its size and offering an even greater selection of treatments. The hotel will keep with a contemporary décor to match the elegance of the façade, and will aim to provide guests with the feel of staying in a private home. Elite travelers looking for information on the renovation of the hotel should contact Mrs Karin Nørgaard.

TOP SUITE HOTEL D’ANGLETERRE

Why we love it: Very little is known about the Hotel D’Angleterre’s biggest suite, which is very much still in the planning stage at the moment. What little is known, however, is very impressive. Standing at over 2,700 square feet, the suite will be the largest in Copenhagen by a considerable margin. Given the scale of the renovation of the hotel, it’s more than likely that however the suite turns out it’ll be a fantastic addition to the Hotel D’Angleterre.
