Miscellanious E3 reveals and rumours:

E3 2018 conference schedule e3 2018 rumours

Even if they don’t have a specific conference, many developers will be announcing new games and updates around E3 anyway.

Plenty of developers have confirmed E3 games on show. However, many of these titles are multi-platform games which could appear in any number of consoles’ presentations. Alternatively, they may not appear in any presentations but could be playable on the show floor.

Rumours:

  • Cyberpunk 2077 – We know that CD Projekt Red, the studio behind the critically-acclaimed Witcher series, is working on a sci-fi title based on a popular tabletop game. We also know that it will be at E3 in some capacity showing some game. We don’t know if that game is Cyberpunk 2077. In addition, we don’t know if CD Projekt Red is showing it publicly or just to trade bodies. Either way, expect some rumblings about this even if there’s not a full reveal.
  • Overcooked 2 – Leaked in the same listing as various other Nintendo Switch titles. This quirky multi-player cooking game is almost certainly going to make an appearance. Like its predecessor, it will almost certainly be a multi-platform release, perhaps with a few new modes.
  • Hitman 2 – Oh, this is definitely happening (probably). WB Games has said an announcement of some kind is coming. The studio also shared a teaser with a reference to something from the first Hitman game. In addition, a Reddit user found a reference to Hitman 2 buried in the source code of WB Games’ website. This is happening.
  • Borderlands 3 and/or Borderlands 2: Remastered – Gearbox and game director Randy Pitchford have both denied they’ll be at E3. Still, rumours about this one just keep rolling. Those rumours have reached such a fever pitch it’s fair to say we’ll probably hear something about a Borderlands game. But we won’t know if its a remaster or a brand new game until it happens.

When does E3 open to journalists and the public?

For those attending the conference in Los Angeles, the show floor opens just after Nintendo’s online presentation ends. This will be a chance to explore the some of the games that developers are talking about during their presentations.

This is when you’ll start to see some hands-on impressions of new releases popping up on gaming websites.

There’s also a few other events to keep an eye out for. For example, the various Nintendo eSports tournaments taking place around E3 could yield a few more details.
