Germany’s technology industry saw a rise of 36.6% in overall deal activity during July 2019, when compared with the last 12-month average, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

A total of 56 deals worth $369.61m were announced in July 2019, compared to the 12-month average of 41 deals.
M&A was the leading category in the month in terms of volume with 27 deals which accounted for 48.2% of all deals.
In second place was venture financing with 25 deals, followed by private equity with four transactions, respectively accounting for 44.6% and 7.1% of overall deal activity in the country’s technology industry during the month.
In terms of value of deals, M&A was the leading deal category in Germany’s technology industry with total deals worth $202.24m, while private equity and venture financing deals totalled $111.33m and $56.04m, respectively.

The top five technology industry deals accounted for 91.02% of the overall value during July 2019.
The combined value of the top five technology deals stood at $336.4m, against the overall value of $369.61m recorded for the month.
