Israel’s technology industry saw a rise of 39.1% in overall deal activity during June 2020, when compared with the last 12-month average, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

A total of 32 deals worth $1.18bn were announced in June 2020, compared to the 12-month average of 23 deals.
Venture financing was the leading category in the month in terms of volume with 19 deals which accounted for 59.4% of all deals.
In second place was M&A with 12 deals, followed by private equity with one transactions, respectively accounting for 37.5% and 3.1% of overall deal activity in the country’s technology industry during the month.
In terms of value of deals, M&A was the leading deal category in Israel’s technology industry with total deals worth $1bn, while private equity and venture financing deals totalled $180.9m and $0.57m, respectively.
Israel technology industry deals in June 2020: Top deals
The top five technology industry deals accounted for 90.6% of the overall value during June 2020.
The combined value of the top five technology deals stood at $1.07bn, against the overall value of $1.18bn recorded for the month.
The top five technology industry deals of June 2020 tracked by GlobalData were:
1) NetApp’s $450m acquisition of Spotinst
2) The $365m acquisition of OptimalPlus by National Instruments
3) Microsoft’s $170m acquisition of CyberX
4) The $48m venture financing of ArtList by Elephant Partners and KKR &Inc
5) Alibaba Group Holding, Blumberg Capital, Hanaco Venture Capital, Mangrove Capital Partners, Schusterman Family Investments, SilverTech Ventures, Sistema VC and World Trade Ventures’ venture financing of SQream Technologies for $39.4m.
