The global technology industry noticed a 5.1% rise in IT hiring activity in July 2021 over the previous month, led by Accenture’s 17.96% share, according to GlobalData’s Jobs Analytics database.
The technology industry’s overall hiring activity increased 2% when compared with June 2021.

Noticeably, IT jobs accounted for a 31.64% share of the global technology industry’s hiring activity in July 2021, up 1.93% over the last three-month average share.
According to GlobalData, IT job opportunities available at the end of July 2021 were 0.95% higher compared with the previous month.
The increase was a result of 1.99% lower job postings as compared to job closures during the month.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 76.21% emerged as the top IT occupation in the technology hiring activity in July 2021, a 0.75% increase over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in second with a share of 9.08% in July 2021, down 8.4% over the previous month.
The other prominent IT roles include Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a 5.67% share in July 2021, decline of 7.04% over the previous month, and Computer Support Specialists with a 4.19% share in July 2021 and drop of 9.09% over June 2021.
Top five technology companies by recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average an increase of 17.86% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of global technology industry during July 2021 over June 2021.
Accenture posted 13,081 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a drop of 8.21% over the previous month, followed by Cognizant Technology Solutions with 11,182 jobs and a 212.87% rise. International Business Machines with 3,228 IT jobs and Dell Technologies with 2,514 jobs, recorded a 14.74% decline and a 2.86% drop, respectively, while DXC Technology recorded a 34.87% drop with 1,834 job postings during July 2021.
Regional composition of IT hiring in technology industry
Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global technology IT hiring activity in July 2021 with a 50.41% share, which marked a 16.2% growth over the previous month.
North America stood next with 31.78%, registering an 11.03% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 15.09% share and a 22.92% decline over June 2021.
In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 1.37% and a month-on-month drop of 14.1%. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 1.35%, registering a 12.38% drop over the previous month.
