OpenAI and Nvidia have formalised a strategic partnership to deploy 10GW of Nvidia systems for OpenAI’s advanced AI infrastructure.
This initiative aims to facilitate the training and operation of OpenAI’s upcoming AI models, moving towards the goal of superintelligence.

Nvidia plans to invest up to $100bn to support infrastructure needs, including data centres and power capabilities, as the new systems are implemented.
The initial deployment phase is projected for launch in the latter half of 2026, utilising the Nvidia Vera Rubin platform.
In this partnership, Nvidia will act as OpenAI’s primary partner for compute and networking, supporting OpenAI’s expansion plans for its AI factory.
The collaboration will focus on integrating OpenAI’s model and infrastructure software with the company’s hardware and software.

This agreement enhances existing collaborations between OpenAI, Nvidia, and partners such as Microsoft, Oracle, SoftBank, and Stargate, all aimed at developing leading AI infrastructure.
With OpenAI reaching more than 700 million weekly active users, the partnership is set to further its mission to develop artificial general intelligence for widespread benefit.
Details of the partnership are expected to be finalised in the forthcoming weeks.
Nvidia founder and CEO Jensen Huang said: “Nvidia and OpenAI have pushed each other for a decade, from the first DGX supercomputer to the breakthrough of ChatGPT.
“This investment and infrastructure partnership mark the next leap forward — deploying 10 gigawatts to power the next era of intelligence.”
Recently, Abu Dhabi’s Technology Innovation Institute (TII) partnered with the company to create a research lab in the United Arab Emirates, dedicated to advanced AI models and robotics, according to Reuters.
This marks the first Nvidia AI Technology Centre in the Middle East, as confirmed by TII.
