According to Palo Alto Networks’ recently released State of Cloud Security Report, 99% of surveyed customers experienced at least one attack on their AI infrastructure in the past year. This comes as companies increasingly move workloads to the cloud to support new AI initiatives.
The new partnership aims to provide security measures throughout all stages of hybrid multicloud infrastructure, application development, and at every endpoint.
The agreement includes delivering security for live AI workloads and data across Google Cloud environments such as Vertex AI and Agent Engine.
Customers can also secure developer tools, including the Agent Development Kit (ADK), using Prisma AIRS.

By GlobalDataThe platform offers features such as AI Posture Management, AI Runtime Security, AI Agent Security for autonomous systems, AI Red Teaming for proactive testing, and AI Model Security for vulnerability scanning.
The companies will offer a software-based firewall through Palo Alto Networks’ VM-Series, providing threat prevention and deep packet inspection in cloud environments.
This integration allows businesses to implement security policies while advancing their adoption of Google Cloud.
Palo Alto Networks president BJ Jenkins said: “We’re removing the friction between security and development, providing a unified platform where the most advanced security is simply a native part of building what’s next.
“Together with Google, we are embedding our AI-powered security deep into the Google Cloud fabric, turning the platform itself into a proactive defence system.”
Palo Alto Networks’ Prisma Secure Access Service Edge (SASE) platform will now offer further integration with Google Cloud’s native AI services, supporting secure networking for remote users and devices.
The service runs on Google’s network infrastructure and leverages Google Cloud Interconnect to link wide area network (WAN) infrastructure across multiple clouds while maintaining consistent security protocols.
Customers will also experience a unified security approach through pre-vetted solutions engineered for joint operation between the two providers.
This alignment is intended to reduce integration challenges for security teams and speed up deployment while providing a comprehensive view of enterprise security across hybrid multicloud environments.
Palo Alto Networks has committed to migrating key internal workloads onto Google Cloud as part of a new multi-billion-dollar arrangement.
The company is also implementing Google Cloud’s Vertex AI platform and Gemini large language models (LLMs) into its Co-pilot products.
Google Cloud president and chief revenue officer Matt Renner said: “Enterprises are increasingly turning to Google Cloud and Palo Alto Networks to secure their applications and data – together and in a seamless way.
“This latest expansion of our partnership will ensure that our joint customers have access to the right solutions to secure their most critical AI infrastructure and develop new AI agents with security built in from the start.”
