Progress Software has announced a new release of its Progress Telerik and Progress Kendo UI suites, adding AI-driven tools for user interface generation, debugging and document processing.

The Nasdaq-listed AI infrastructure software company said the release embeds AI into user interface (UI) generation, application modernisation and development workflows. It said the tools support applications designed for both human and AI agent interaction.

According to Progress Software, the capabilities allow teams to move from traditional software development cycles to AI-assisted coding for production-ready, agent-driven software.

Among the new features is the Progress Agentic UI Generator, which embeds component-level accessibility directly into UI creation. Progress Software said it provides contextual guidance intended to reduce compliance risk.

Progress Fiddler Agent Skills gives coding assistants direct visibility into network traffic for in-IDE debugging. The company said it can proactively alert developers to problems and suggested solutions.

Agent tools have also been added to the Telerik Document Processing Libraries (DPL). These allow developers to extract structured data, analyse Excel files, convert formats and generate documents within existing applications, without external AI services.

The release supports WebMCP, which enables AI agents to interact directly with application interfaces. Progress said this eliminates screen-scraping techniques.

For legacy systems, the update automates conversion to Progress Telerik UI for WinForms. The process uses intelligent control mapping, code parsing and MCP-based automation.

.NET applications can connect to the Progress RAG-as-a-Service product, using large language models to analyse and converse with unstructured enterprise data, documents and other information.

Additional features include Smart Paste, PromptBox and SmartBox. The release also adds new components, broader framework support, faster CLI onboarding and integrated AI chat in the documentation.

Progress Software digital experience executive vice president and general manager Loren Jarrett said: “Engineering leaders need to both enable their teams to use AI to scale their productivity and to increase their production of agentic applications

“This release enables engineering teams to meet those needs by extending developer productivity and providing pioneering UI tools to build AI-embedded applications compatible with both human and agent interactions.”

Last month, Progress Software announced agentic AI capabilities in its Progress Sitefinity Generative CMS platform. It said the features are intended to streamline content operations and accelerate digital experience delivery, with greater productivity, consistency and control.

Progress Software said Sitefinity AI agents operate within the publishing process rather than sitting outside it, unlike AI assistants. Agents execute tasks such as optimisation, review and analysis within the content lifecycle.

The company said this approach reduces bottlenecks and shortens production cycles, helping editors deliver content with greater consistency, quality and performance.

It added that many organisations remain constrained by manual workflows, fragmented tools and limited resources when delivering and maintaining content at scale.
