Computer and Mathematical Occupations drive social responsibility-related hiring activity

Computer and Mathematical Occupations, with a share of 23%, emerged as the top social responsibility-related job roles within the technology industry in Q4 2023, with new job postings rising by 7% quarter-on-quarter. Management Occupations came in second with a share of 19% in Q4 2023, with new job postings rising by 8% over the previous quarter.

The other prominent social responsibility roles include Sales and Related Occupations with an 8% share in Q4 2023, Architecture and Engineering Occupations with a 7% share of new job postings.

Top five companies in technology industry accounted for 18% of hiring activity

The top companies, in terms of number of new job postings tracked by GlobalData, as of Q4 2023 were Oracle, Comcast, Micron Technology, Fiserv, and UST Global. Together they accounted for a combined share of 18% of all social responsibility-related new jobs in the technology industry.

Oracle posted 2,229 social responsibility-related new jobs in Q4 2023, Comcast 2,213 jobs, Micron Technology 1,774 jobs, Fiserv 1,591 jobs, and UST Global 1,238 jobs, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics.

Hiring activity was driven by the US with a 46.82% share of total new job postings, Q4 2023

The largest share of social responsibility-related new job postings in the technology industry in Q4 2023 was in the US with 46.82% followed by India (14.33%) and the UK (6.05%). The share represented by the US was 0 percentage points lower than the 47.09% share it accounted for in Q3 2023.
