Out of the technology industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 49.72% share in August 2021, recording a decrease of 0.07% over the last three-month average share.

By GlobalData1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 79.75% in August 2021, registering a 31.54% decline over the previous month.
2) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations claimed a 9.94% share, a decrease of 22.41% over the previous month.
3) Database and Network Administrators and Architects held a share of 6.55%, registering a 16.82% decline from July 2021.
4) Computer and Information Analysts captured a share of 3.09%, down 40% over the previous month.
Top five technology companies in Switzerland’s IT recruitment activity in August 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 31.54% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of Switzerland’s technology industry during August 2021 over July 2021.
DXC Technology posted 1,168 IT jobs in August 2021 and registered a drop of 34.57% over the previous month, followed by Swisscom with 62 jobs and a 44.19% growth. Comet with 33 IT jobs and SoftwareONE with 11 jobs, recorded a flat growth and a 15.38% decrease, respectively, while NEC recorded a flat growth with 9 job postings during August 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 74.82%, down by 33.55% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 16.57% share, registered a decline of 26.47% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 8.25% share, down 12.5% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.37%, recording a month-on-month increase of 150%.
