ThreatModeler Software, a US-based platform for threat modelling, has raised $60m in its first institutional financing round from Invictus Growth Partners.

Customers use ThreatModeler’s platform to improve security across all aspects of their development, security, and operations (DevSecOps) processes.

The technology company plans to use the investment to bolster sales, marketing, and product innovation, particularly in artificial intelligence-driven advancements.

The capital injection comes at a time when the DevSecOps market is experiencing rapid growth, with projections indicating an 18% CAGR from $6.1bn in 2023 to $10.1bn by 2027.

ThreatModeler’s platform, including its CloudModeler and IaC-Assist products, provides enterprise development teams with the tools to create and maintain secure applications and cloud infrastructures.

The platform enables users to visualise their attack surfaces, identify and mitigate design flaws, and automatically monitor for threat drift in cloud environments.

This capability is increasingly crucial as regulations within cloud infrastructure require ongoing threat modelling even post-deployment.

CloudModeler allows customers to design secure systems from the outset and detect discrepancies between live infrastructure and its intended design.

The product is said to be capable of automatically generating threat models, thereby streamlining the implementation of essential security policies.

ThreatModeler founder and CEO Archie Agarwal said: “This is a significant milestone for us, empowering us to accomplish our mission of One-Click Threat Modeling. It will enable development teams globally with a scalable and automated threat modelling process, ensuring robust security for their applications from design-to-code-to-cloud.

“The Invictus team’s reputation for excellence, AI/ML expertise, and success scaling enterprise businesses made it clear they are the best long-term partner for us.”

As part of the financing, Invictus co-founder and managing partner John DeLoche, along with partner Jeremy Lai, have taken seats on ThreatModeler’s board of directors.

DeLoche added: “Threat modelling is critical for those security and development teams looking to take the most proactive approach to protect their enterprises and applications, and ThreatModeler has set the industry standard for security, innovation, ease of use, and scalability.”
