Concept: Chinese software company ThunderSoft has unveiled a smart cockpit solution based on Qualcomm’s hardware platform SA8295 at CES 2022. It aims to better meet the diverse demands of clients throughout the world while also speeding up the growth of the smart automotive industry.
Nature of Disruption: ThunderSoft’s smart cockpit solution combines low-speed driver assistance with the cockpit domain to provide a better 360-degree surrounding view along with smart parking. The solution leverages SA8295’s AI compute capability and multi-camera supporting features. Also, it uses the SA8295 platform’s computing, graphic, and image processing performance to create a one-chip multi-screen smart cockpit domain that includes the digital cluster, front passenger entertainment, head-up display, central console entertainment, rear-seat entertainment, and streaming media rearview mirror. SA8295’s security and safety features include user data encryption, storage security, function security, and car-to-cloud security. ThunderSoft’s sophisticated multi-screen linkage technology enables the full-screen scenario to offer customers a better and more intelligent immersive interactive experience. It utilizes virtual assistants with voice recognition technology to transform the smart cockpit into a customized intelligent partner in the mobility sector.
Outlook: With advancements in the chip, software, and other technologies, a one-core multi-screen multi-system integrated cockpit platform becomes a mainstay in the next-generation cockpit as a way to integrate systems. It can cut costs, and meet needs for multi-screen interconnection, intelligent interaction, and intelligent driving capabilities that a traditional cockpit cannot provide. The latest smart cockpit solution by Kanzi One, introduced by Rightware, ThunderSoft’s user interface design tool supplier, also features a 3D design and a human-machine interaction experience. Moreover, for the first time in the market, the screen projection solution integrated CarLink to fully address the diverse consumer expectations for smart automobiles.
