Australian neocloud Sharon AI has signed a five-year agreement to use the Rafay Systems platform as a centralised orchestration layer across its AI Factory environments.

The Nasdaq-listed company said the platform will standardise the way its accelerated computing infrastructure is provisioned, governed and monitored. It will also standardise how that infrastructure is made available to customers spanning different sites, tenants and workload types.

The architecture established under the agreement has been designed to support the orchestration of up to 150,000 graphics processing units (GPUs) over the five-year term. That figure is said to reflect an intention to develop platform components capable of handling larger GPU deployments over time.

The deal formalises Sharon AI’s existing use of Rafay across its expanding infrastructure platform. It shifts the business away from individual cluster deployments and towards a single operating framework intended to underpin expansion in Asia-Pacific and further afield.

“This should enable us to manage our compute capacity more efficiently, accelerate service delivery and provide customers with a consistent and secure experience as we scale.”

Acting as a control plane above the underlying physical infrastructure, the platform supplies operational guardrails covering infrastructure lifecycle management, workload orchestration, governance and monitoring. Kubernetes and virtual machine environments are handled through a single unified system.

Automation, observability and secure multi-tenancy features are intended to help the company allocate compute capacity and accommodate varying customer workload requirements.

The layer is also designed to mask the complexity of procuring, deploying and running advanced AI infrastructure, allowing customers to draw on the AI capabilities they need without owning or operating the hardware themselves.

Rafay co-founder and CEO Haseeb Budhani said: “Operating AI infrastructure at scale requires more than access to GPU capacity. Providers also need the orchestration, automation and governance capabilities required to transform that infrastructure into secure, reliable and production-ready AI services.”

Rafay supplies software to operators building the AI cloud, among them neoclouds, telecommunications providers, enterprises and sovereign AI operators. Its stack covers bare-metal provisioning, infrastructure lifecycle management, virtual machines, Kubernetes, GPU platform-as-a-service, AI development environments and token-metered inference services.

Beyond the technology itself, the arrangement is expected to build Sharon AI’s internal capabilities and expertise around the Rafay platform and to embed consistent operating practices across its deployments.

The companies anticipate the collaboration will improve infrastructure utilisation and reliability, automate service delivery, maintain governance consistency and speed up customer access to advanced AI capabilities.

The announcement follows a run of contract wins. Last month, Sharon AI disclosed a five-year cloud computing service agreement with a global AI platform, carrying a total contract value of $373m, under which it expects to deploy cloud computing solutions across its Australian AI infrastructure.

Revenue from that contract is expected to begin during the first quarter of 2027.

Before that, in July 2026, the company signed a five-year cloud computing service agreement with a global AI Lab valued at $1.32bn, covering the deployment of cloud computing solutions across data centre infrastructure in New Zealand.

Revenue there is expected to commence across the first and second quarters of 2027.
