More than 180 professionals from COMWARE are expected to join Accenture, supporting the continued growth of Accenture Edge. COMWARE brings capabilities in IT implementation and operations for mid-market businesses, alongside established expertise in SAP and CRM technologies.

Founded in September 2000, COMWARE has delivered services to Japanese companies in discrete manufacturing, such as make-to-order and make-to-plan production, as well as process manufacturing in sectors including chemicals and food.

The company is described as having a long-standing understanding of manufacturing operations and retains enduring client relationships.

COMWARE has acted as a business partner of SAP Japan for over 25 years, offering SAP services that include rapid implementations using its proprietary “COMet” template. In recent years, the organisation has extended its reach as a Salesforce business partner, adding CRM-focused solutions to its portfolio.

COMWARE president Tetsu Kayama said: “Since our founding in September 2000, COMWARE has been at the forefront of SAP-centered ERP solutions. As AI continues to rapidly reshape the industry, we sought greater opportunities to accelerate our growth, and joining Accenture was the decision we needed to make to realise that ambition.

“Going forward, as part of Accenture, each of our employees will grow on this new stage, and we will contribute more than ever to the transformation and growth of companies across Japan.”

Accenture launched Accenture Edge in June 2026 to serve mid-market companies with annual revenues between $300m and $3bn. The business is focused on delivering solutions specifically designed for this market, drawing on Accenture’s expertise and relationships with major technology providers in artificial intelligence, cloud and data.

Initial roll-out of Accenture Edge is intended for priority global markets, offering a growing set of partner-focused solutions. Accenture has identified the worldwide mid-market segment as a $240bn total addressable market (TAM), growing at a high single-digit rate, and considers these companies vital to economic growth and employment.

Accenture representative director, president and Japan country managing director Dai Hamaoka said: “As AI becomes foundational to how companies operate and compete, speed of execution has become increasingly critical to improving decision-making, productivity and competitiveness.

“COMWARE will bring deep knowledge of mid-market companies, exceptional talent, and strong client relationships. Combined with Accenture’s global execution capabilities and AI-driven transformation services, this will enable us to deliver scalable and repeatable transformation services more quickly to a broader range of clients.

“We will continue to support clients end-to-end, helping turn AI- and technology-driven change into business outcomes for sustainable growth and competitiveness in Japan.”

Earlier in the week, Accenture also announced an agreement to acquire McCoy, a Dutch SAP transformation provider for mid-market companies. Upon closing, McCoy will operate under Accenture Edge, contributing to expansion in Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) and the Netherlands specifically.

McCoy, founded in 2012 and headquartered in the Netherlands, maintains offices in Spain and the Philippines. Its SAP services cover ERP, data, business solutions, managed services and enterprise integration for clients in sectors including manufacturing, high-tech, public sector, utilities and retail.

Last month, Accenture Edge and Google Cloud announced a suite of agentic solutions for mid-market technology and AI transformation. These solutions are pre-built to address the requirements of mid-market organisations at speed and scale.
