Cisco has released its Sovereign Critical Infrastructure portfolio in Canada, offering government departments, financial institutions, healthcare organisations and other critical infrastructure operators the option of running technology entirely within their facilities.
The portfolio is configurable for on-premises and air-gapped deployment, meaning systems operate with no connection to the public internet.

It covers Cisco’s main product lines, including routing, wireless, switching, collaboration and selected endpoint devices, together with security and observability tools from Cisco and Splunk.
The company said the arrangement allows mission-critical systems to continue operating without a constant cloud connection, or when connectivity or external vendors are unavailable.
Cisco Canada president Raj Juneja said: “Every organisation has different needs when it comes to control and choice over their infrastructure.
“Sovereign Critical Infrastructure gives Canadian organisations a new way to meet those needs, building on Cisco Canada’s three decades of work helping these very organisations solve their most complex technology challenges.”
Through trust-based licensing, Cisco said it eliminates all remote access, leaving the control and management of the products entirely in the hands of the customer.
Most of the on-premises portfolio is IPv6-ready and holds FIPS 140-2/3 and Common Criteria certification, the company said.
The portfolio is designed to align with Canadian frameworks such as ITSG-33 and to provide the security controls needed to obtain Authority to Operate for mission-critical services. The launch comes as Canada pursues its AI for All strategy.
Separately, Cisco has announced the expansion of its Secure AI Factory with Nvidia through a partnership with Supermicro, adding high-density, liquid- and air-cooled rack-scale computing.
The resulting full-stack architecture, which complies with the Nvidia Cloud Partner specification, is aimed at enterprises, neoclouds and sovereign clouds, and covers workloads ranging from trillion-parameter model training to edge inferencing.
In July, Cisco launched Antares, a family of security-focused small language models (SLMs) designed to identify known vulnerabilities in software codebases.
