Hon Hai Technology Group (Foxconn) has announced board approval for an investment of up to T$42bn ($1.37bn) to acquire equipment for an AI compute cluster and a supercomputing centre.
The Taiwanese company disclosed in a regulatory filing that it will allocate its own funds for the project, with spending scheduled from December 2025 through December 2026.

The investment is aimed at expanding Foxconn’s cloud computing service platform and expedite the development of its three smart platforms, reported Reuters.
Foxconn did not provide additional information about the investment’s location or technical specifications.
The company is expanding its commitment to AI and cloud infrastructure as part of its strategy to diversify beyond legacy electronics manufacturing.
In May 2025, Foxconn revealed plans to work with Nvidia on an AI centre in Taiwan designed for a power load of 100 megawatts (MW).
