US-based company Microsoft’s IT hiring rose 7.9% in August 2021 when compared with the previous month, according to GlobalData’s Job Analytics database.
The company’s overall hiring activity increased by 5.33% in August 2021 when compared with July 2021.

IT jobs claimed a 39.36% share in the company’s total hiring activity in August 2021, and recorded a 1.9% decline over the last three-month average share.
Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers tops Microsoft IT hiring in August 2021
Out of the total IT job titles posted by Microsoft, Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers emerged as the leading occupation, recording a share of 80.79% in August 2021, and a 27.72% rise over July 2021, while Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed a share of 10.65% in August 2021, and registered a decline of 16.39%. Computer and Information Research Scientists held a share of 5.08% in August 2021, a 15.87% rise from July 2021.

North America emerged as the leading region in the global technology IT hiring activity in August 2021 with a 55.11% share, which marked a 15.28% rise over the previous month.
Asia-Pacific stood next with 30.83%, registering a 45.25% month-on-month growth. Europe was the third leading region with a 9.19% share and a 15.38% drop over July 2021.
In the fourth place was Middle East & Africa with a share of 3.13% and a month-on-month increase of 15.38%. South & Central America stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 1.74%, registering a 19.35% drop over the previous month.
The US commanded a leading presence in the region’s technology industry IT hiring activity with a 52.26% share in August 2021, a 23.72% growth over July 2021. China featured next with a 12.94% share, up 77.14% over the previous month. India recorded a 12.04% share, an increase of 31.06% compared with July 2021.
Junior Level jobs lead Microsoft IT hiring activity in August 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 55.88%, up by 16.38% from July 2021. Mid Level positions with a 28.18% share, a growth of 22.73% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 15.8% share, up 15.82% over July 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.14%, recording a month-on-month flat growth.
