Reliance Industries (RIL) has announced a joint venture (JV) with Meta to develop enterprise AI solutions targeting Indian businesses and select international markets.
The partnership involves a combined initial investment of approximately Rs8.55bn ($100m), with the Indian conglomerate holding a 70% stake and Meta 30%. Subject to receipt of regulatory approvals, this JV deal is anticipated to close in Q4 2025.

The JV will leverage Meta’s open-source Llama models to create enterprise AI platforms. These platforms will allow organisations to customise, deploy, and manage generative AI models tailored for various applications, including sales, marketing, IT development, customer service, and finance.
Meta founder and CEO Mark Zuckerberg said: “We’re excited to deepen our partnership with Reliance to bring the power of open‑source AI to Indian developers and enterprises.
“Through this joint venture, we’re putting Meta’s Llama models into real-world use, and I’m looking forward to Meta expanding its footprint in the enterprise space as we unlock new possibilities together.”
With an aim to offer cost-effective AI solutions for Indian enterprises and small-to-medium businesses, the JV will combine Meta’s technology with Reliance’s vast market reach.

According to Reliance, the collaboration promises significant flexibility in deploying these models across cloud and on-premise infrastructures, optimising infrastructure costs effectively.

Additionally, Reliance has expanded its partnership with Google Cloud to advance AI infrastructure in India. This collaboration seeks to enhance India’s digital landscape by providing advanced AI infrastructure supported by green energy through Jio’s digital network.
Reliance will design and operate a cloud facility in Jamnagar, Gujarat that will comply with Google Cloud’s global standards, thereby supporting demanding AI workloads.
The Google Cloud-Reliance partnership aims to transform the Indian conglomerate’s various business operations using AI while fostering innovation and modernisation.
It is expected to enable high-performance AI services for enterprises, startups, developers, and public sector bodies. Google Cloud will contribute its AI hypercomputer and an integrated AI stack comprising generative AI models and development platforms.
This facility will be powered through Reliance’s green energy initiatives, ensuring the sustainability of operations at a large scale. Connectivity between Jamnagar and major cities like Mumbai and Delhi will be provided by Reliance Jio’s fiber network.
