The $335m venture financing of EXOTEC Solutions was the technology industry’s top artificial intelligence venture financing deal as total deals worth $5bn were announced globally in January 2022, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked an increase of 0.6% over the previous month of $5bn and a drop of 10.5% when compared with the last 12-month average, which stood at $5.62bn.

Comparing artificial intelligence venture financing deals value in different regions of the globe, North America held the top position, with total announced deals in the period worth $2.4bn. At the country level, the US topped the list in terms of deal value at $2.28bn.

In terms of volumes, North America emerged as the top region for technology industry artificial intelligence venture financing deals globally, followed by Asia-Pacific and then Europe.

The top country in terms of artificial intelligence venture financing deals activity in January 2022 was the US with 63 deals, followed by the China with 25 and the UK with 13.

In 2022, as of January, technology artificial intelligence venture financing deals worth $5.03bn were announced globally, marking an increase of 11.05% year on year.
