Technology industry venture financing deals total $12.8bn in North America in April 2021

Total technology industry venture financing deals worth $12.8bn were announced in North America in April 2021, led by $1bn venture financing of Epic Games, according to GlobalData’s deals database.

The value marked a decrease of 10.8% over the previous month of $14.33bn and a rise of 66.4% when compared with the last 12-month average of $7.68bn.

North America held a 58.95% share of the global technology industry venture financing deal value that totalled $21.68bn in April 2021. With a 57.43% share and deals worth $12.45bn, the US was the top country in North America’s venture financing deal value across technology industry.

In terms of venture financing deal activity, North America recorded 500 deals during April 2021, marking a decrease of 17.90% over the previous month and a rise of 20.48% over the 12-month average. The US recorded 478 deals during the month.
