The US held a 78.6% share of the global technology industry private equity deal value that totalled $28.73bn in December 2020.

In terms of deal activity, the US recorded 60 deals during December 2020, marking an increase of 36.4% over the previous month and a rise of 46.3% over the 12-month average.

The combined value of the top five technology private equity deals stood at $22.05bn, against the overall value of $22.58bn recorded for the month.

The top five technology industry deals of December 2020 tracked by GlobalData were:

1) Thoma Bravo’s $10.2bn private equity deal with RealPage

2) The $7.2bn private equity deal with Ingram Micro by Platinum Equity

3) Partners Group and Vista Equity Partners Management’s $3.5bn private equity deal with Pluralsight

4) The $750m private equity deal with Alorica by Apollo Global Management

5) Blackstone Capital Partners’ private equity deal with Liftoff for $400m.
