The industry’s overall hiring is decreased by 8.39% in September 2021 when compared with August 2021.
Out of the technology industry’s total hiring activity, IT jobs claimed a 60.34% share in September 2021, recording a decrease of 0.73% over the last three-month average share.

Out of the total job titles, the top five roles commanded a 100.91% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s technology industry in September 2021.

1) Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers recorded a share of 86.02% in September 2021, registering a 29.98% decline over the previous month.
2) Database and Network Administrators and Architects claimed an 8.74% share, a decrease of 19.02% over the previous month.
3) Miscellaneous Computer Occupations held a share of 2.58%, registering a 31.64% decline from August 2021.

Top five technology companies in India’s IT recruitment activity in September 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, have accounted for a combined average decline of 30.47% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of India’s technology industry during September 2021 over August 2021.
Cognizant Technology Solutions posted 8,475 IT jobs in September 2021 and registered a drop of 12.31% over the previous month, followed by Accenture with 6,897 jobs and a 36.16% drop. International Business Machines with 1,332 IT jobs and Nippon Telegraph and Telephone with 1,178 jobs, recorded a 63.07% decline and a 28.88% flat growth, respectively, while Oracle recorded a decline of 65.38% with 503 job postings during September 2021.
Junior Level job postings dominate in September 2021
Junior Level jobs held a share of 41.71%, down by 34.83% from August 2021. Mid Level positions with a 40.37% share, registered a decline of 30.74% compared with the previous month.
In the third place was Entry Level job ads with 17.7% share, down 2.66% over August 2021, while Senior postings accounted for 0.23%, recording a month-on-month decline of 52.17%.
